PLDA Workshop, Liverpool 2008

PLDA (Professional Lighting Designer´s Association)
Workshop, Liverpool 2008.

The biggest workshop ever organised by PLDA was held in Liverpool in October 2008
as a part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations.

The workshop took place in a section of the city known as the "Baltic Triangle"
which is an historic port area bordered by Rope Walks, Liverpool One and Kings Waterfront,
and included two sites on the opposite side of the river Mersey.

Olsson & Linder were heading a workshop group at The Great George Square which is an open
communal space situated in the centre of a residential area running parallel to Liverpool City Centre.
The group’s task was to bring this area back to life by creating a safe and exciting environment
that could be enjoyed and utilised by the whole community. We aimed to bring joy and make wishes come true
in the places they are most needed. Lighting Design is about understanding people’s needs and requirements
and the aim of the group’s concept was to bring life into this outdoor living space.
